While retaining the same appearance as traditional majolica tableware, our High Resistance ceramics boast greater strength against impacts and abrasions. Additionally, they maintain excellent brilliance over time, even after numerous washes, as demonstrated by specific scientific tests.

DESIGN MEETS EFFICIENCY
In the processing of ceramics, Fratelli Colì employs a corrective process for the porosity and colour of the clay by applying a coating, which can be either thick or thin, transparent or opaque, that reduces the permeability of soft pastes and smooths harder ones. Among the glazes, the white, glossy finish forms the classic coating of majolica. These can be tinted with vitrifiable colours composed of metallic oxides, which behave differently depending on the temperature and atmosphere of the kiln (oxidising or reducing), resulting in varied effects. The colours are classified as low-fire or muffled-fire (to be applied only to the coatings: approximately 600°) and high-fire (to be applied beneath and within the coatings, from 900° to 970° and beyond).
